I enjoy scuba diving quite a lot, and I've always wanted to be able to capture everything I see on picture or video.
I'm not sure of any places in and around Vancouver that sell underwater cameras though. If anyone could help me that would be great.
A number of companies make underwater cameras. SeaLife, Sea & Sea, Ikelite and Nikonos.
And these companies make "real" under water cameras, with depth ratings much greater than any of the "waterproof" camera's that Canon, Pentax, and Olympus make.
Another option you have is to buy an underwater housing for your camera, or if you don't already own a camera, buy one and get a housing. Canon makes housings good to 160' for many of there models, and Ikelite, make even better, more expensive housings for Canon, and other brands!
Sorry, I can't help you for Vancouver, but any of the companies I lisred with ship there! As will B&H, the second link!
There are many underwater cameras available for Olympus. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1395&fl=4 consider this camera seems good for what you want and alright on picture quality.
Actually this one is better because it can go deeper than other cameras (Olympus Stylus Tough 8000) good picture quality, can go thirty three feet deep into the water and is shockproof and freezeproof as well.

Try http://www.joediveramerica.com – make sure you do your research on which items are really good before buying, but they tend to have great prices on most stuff.
I think their site is offline rightn ow, got a message saying it will be back up in 5 minutes when I try to browse underwater digicams.
And the above camera is by no means what you need:
Equivalent to IEC6059 IPX8/JISC0920 (10ft./3m)
that means it's only waterproof down to 10 feet. Don't know too many dive spots where you'll see much that shallow :p

Yeah, for something like that (a niche item), you should have better luck online. I know B&H Photo carries some Sony underwater models, so that'd be a good place to start…as would the ads in the back of a magazine.
