(En EspaƱol abajo)In February 2006, we chartered a Boat to go diving off Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was acting Divemaster, and got a total of 12 divers. The reef we chose was where lies the Boiler Wreck, in the Abu Madafi area.
Since the diving site is on the Windward (West) side of the Reef, boats dropping divers must be careful, especially in rough waters, or else they’ll end up next to the Boiler. Our captain did not come close enough to the reef, since the conditions were pretty rough, and we missed the reef. We ended up in Deep Blue. Our “Plan B” was to go down to 20 mts (66 Ft) and navigate with the compass to find the reef. Then this uninvited guest showed up. It was a Bull Shark, about 9 Ft (3 mts) long; it circled us for about 3 minute, and luckily it was not hungry! Continued…
