A highlight in a Roatan vacation was diving 60 feet in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean to experience shark encounters. Multiple large white tipped reef sharks passed with inches of us. http://www.yctv.tv/floridakeys – When it comes to diving and snorkeling, the Florida Keys unlock an underwater paradise. Here, you’ll find the longest living reef in the western hemisphere; more than 500 wrecks to explore; the world’s first underwater hotel, more dive shops per square mile than anywhere else in the world; and crystal clear waters with visibility up to 120 feet — it’s no wonder that divers from all over the world come to the Florida Keys. Snorkeling and diving the reef off the Keys is an unforgettable experience — a kaleidoscope no painter will ever duplicate. Exotic shapes (corals such as stag- and elkhorn, brain, tree and sea fans) and bizarre color displays (from more than 600 varieties of fish) create a living, breathing landscape.
Ocean Quest boats depart twice daily for the reef. Each dive trip consists of two different dive sites, or the same site if you wish. They leave in the mornings at 9:00 am and in the afternoons at 1:00 pm. Two-tank Dive (two locations): $65.00 – $70.00. (Use your tanks and weights for the lower rate). SNORKEL TRIPS & BUBBLE WATCHERS: $35.00 -$40.00. FULL GEAR RENTAL: $95.00. BCDs, regulators, computers, scooters, dive lights, tanks, wetsuits, masks, fins, snorkels, lobstering kits, and Hawaiian slings. Water, snacks, and fruit juices on every dive.
